Well, you’ve caught me at a bit of an embarrassing moment. I don’t actually have any writing to share yet. However, I am working on a number of projects. As soon as I have an update to share, you will be the first to know!

Oh, alright. Here’s a little sneak peek:

Non-Fiction

  • Weird Waterloo
    • I am so happy to announce that I am co-writing Weird Waterloo with the incredible Mark Leslie.
    • Check out the book’s page on Mark’s website here. We welcome any tips related to weird, ghastly, unexplained or otherwise fascinating stories from Waterloo Region! Check out his other paranormal nonfiction books as well.
  • The Science in Your Fiction
    • A very early stage WIP at this point, this will be a book to supplement my forthcoming podcast. I’ve been planning both concurrently and hope to release the book after the podcast has been around for a year or so, assuming the interviews and research will greatly contribute to the content. It will be a resource for writers of all genres to have more accurate science in their fiction – without letting it get in the way of a good story!
  • As more of a cathartic exercise, I started working on a book for writers who identify as multi-passionate/multi-potentialite.
    • As I’ve explored this identity I realized it is so applicable to us creatives. I believe I can weave together many of these ideas into a helpful book that I also hope to publish in 2023 (or more likely, 2024, since I have to remember I technically have a day job). There are some similar books out there, though, so I plan to do my research and ensure I’m adding value to the community. All my work may just turn into future blog posts!

Fiction

I have far, far too many ideas in various stages of completion. As I dabble in various niches to try to find my foothold, I am working on the following with the hope to have at least one or two out by 2023.

  • A contemporary romance with a woman in STEM lead (decently racy with what I like to believe is a good amount of humour).
  • A sci-fi/techno thriller that could also be described as a modern ghost story.
  • Cozy and a cozy-adjacent mystery series inspired by, respectively, jigsaw puzzles and Ontario cottage country.

Other

If all goes according to plan, I’m going to be submitting two stories to contests this fall. Please cross all available digits on my behalf! I’ll publish completed stories on my new website as they are available.
